Spencer: Let’s keep pushing!
MIDDLESBROUGH Tigers star Tom Spencer has been encouraged by the side’s start to the season, with the Brit urging his teammates to keep pushing to pick up another win and another aggregate bonus point tomorrow.
The Tigers are looking to defeat the Edinburgh Monarchs Academy and overturn a 47-43 first leg deficit to take home the bonus point. The WSRA National League meeting starts at 3pm at the ECCO Arena. Fans wishing to attend are reminded that entry only costs £10.
Spencer, who is in his debut year on Teesside, has been impressed with the side’s results in 2025. Spencer said, “ I’m happy with how we have done, we have run every team close away from home. We had a big home win and picked up the bonus point last time out and with the away results we have the chance to pick up more bonus points, starting tomorrow.”
The likeable former Bears reserve is looking to show why he has plenty to offer at second tier level. Spencer said, “ Obviously I was disappointed to lose my place but I still want to ride in the Cab Direct Championship and if I can go and score big points regularly then I’m sure the promotion will put me back in.”
The likeable star is full of belief for tomorrow’s match. Spencer said, “ I beat their number one Connor Coles on his home track earlier this season which was good for my confidence and Dayle Wood is just coming back from injury, overall, I am confident for tomorrow.”
Tigers boss Brian Turner has opted to move Spencer to number four for tomorrow’s meeting, but he insists “it’s just a number”. “ No matter what number I am, I have to face their number one and the reserves so it’s just a number on my back, it doesn’t alter anything for me.”
Despite being a two time 3rd tier Champion with the Leicester Lion Cubs, Spencer admits he still looks to his teammates for advice, “ I am only 25 but in comparison to some of my teammates I have not been in the sport that long so I still look to them for advice.”
The “Heat Floors” Tigers powered by “STS” are at full strength ahead of the meeting with Jamie Halder returning from a nasty rib injury that he suffered at Edinburgh earlier this season.
The Monarchs Academy welcome back Dayle Wood from injury whilst they also hand a debut to Jordy Loftus who will also line up for the Monarchs next Friday against the Redcar “Agilia” Bears. Additionally, rider replacement will operate for Matt Marson.
Any fans who are unable to attend the meeting are reminded that the meeting will be livestreamed by our streaming partners Tapes Up Productions for an extremely reasonable £6 @ https://www.redcar-speedway.tv
