Parr: We’ve made huge progress!
REDCAR boss Gavin Parr believes the club have made “huge progress” across the season. Redcar are aiming to make their second cup final of 2025 tomorrow night as the Bears host the Glasgow Tigers, (tapes up at 6pm) with a BSN Series Final place up for grabs.
Redcar are looking to overturn a slender first leg deficit at the ECCO Arena to ensure Sunday’s meeting is not their last of the campaign.
Parr also believes that everyone associated with the club should be proud of the side’s 2025. Parr said, “ We should all be very proud of our season and hold our heads high as our financial clout isn’t as big as some clubs. We have 100% moved forward as a club as we are competing on every level and that gives me a great sense of pride.”
Despite a series of defeats by Poole, the Bears boss insists the club’s fans should not be downhearted. Parr said, “ We need to rally and beat Glasgow to face Poole again. If we do qualify and end up losing to Poole in all three competitions, we haven’t had a bad season as they are a quality side. However, we want to win so we can battle Poole again.”
The passionate Bears boss knows how key his reserves will be against the Tigers. Parr said, “ Ace was once again brilliant for us against Poole with paid 10 and that was after a nasty crash. Ace is really coming on a treat and with Jody (Scott) is back we need to beat their reserves in every single race as Glasgow may have a chink in their armour at reserve.”
The Redcar boss knows the threat that the Glasgow top five will pose. Parr said, “ We know they have a very strong top five so it will be down to our middle order to score as many as possible whilst also aiming to beat their reserves in all of their seven outings.”
Redcar welcome back Jody Scott after his mandatory concussion absence whilst Jake Allen returns as a guest for the unwell Erik Riss. Glasgow are at full strength as they aim to make the BSN Series Final to take on Poole.
Fans who cannot attend the meeting are reminded that the meeting will be live streamed by Tapes Up Productions @ www.redcar-speedway.tv.
Season ticket holders are reminded that this fixture is not included in their 2025 ticket but season ticket holders do receive 10% off their entry to the match.
