HALF WAY POINT 
The bosses continue their quest to reach the 780km target and have now surpassed the half way stage. As of yesterday they collectively hit 414km, leaving just 366 to go!
The support so far has been incredible. The current total stands at £1960, a short £40 off their target. If you’d like to help give them that final push and help them reach their target please donate below 
It has been a tough year in 2020 for the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund, with a huge drop in donations due to the cancellation of the British Speedway season. The reason for this is most of the Ben Funds income is generated by track collections, with less than £17,000 of the £100,000 annual expenditure raised to date. Redcar Speedway want to make sure that we are doing what we can for them, as we know first hand the amazing work the Ben Fund provides to injured riders and their families.
The Bears three promoters – Jitendra Duffill, Jade Mudgway and Jamie Swales – have decided to take on the challenge of running the distance needed to drive from Edinburgh to Plymouth, the most northerly and southerly based tracks in the UK, by Christmas Day. This is a distance of 780km in 54 days, giving an average of 5km each every day until 25th December. The challenge will start on 1st November, and each run will be recorded on Strava and posted to their Social Media accounts as proof! This is going to be a tough challenge, especially as all three hate running!
A Justgiving page has been setup for donations, with the aim to raise at least £2000. We realise 2020 has been a tough year for everyone so far, but for those of you who can any donation big or small is very much appreciated!

In the latest in the series of interview, Ryan Nassau caught up with Bears co-promoter and team manager Jade Mudgway to ask a series of questions from the fans:
We all know Speedway is a dangerous sport and that crashes are part and parcel of it and, to a certain extent part of the attraction end excitement. However we never want to see any rider hurt and we always hope that our heroes walk away from a fall.
One man who can count himself lucky is Maciej Janowski after a frightening crash in the Polish Ekstraliga, luckily for Janowski his Troy Lee Designs helmet saved him from serious injury, even if the helmet itself is fit for the scrap heap now!
It just goes to show though that when it comes to safety of riders, there really is no price too high.
Talking of alarming crashes, Tai Woffinden will sadly miss the Speedway Of Nations after suffering a broken hand in a very scary looking crash involving Niels Kristian Iversen. The Danish man lost control of his bike and slid off with Woffinden in hot pursuit and the Great Britain man had no chance of avoiding him, running over the top of him before heading over the handlebars and into the safety fence.
In all truth it was a minor miracle that both men walked away from the accident with Woffinden’s hand injury being the worst damage to either man, although it would be safe to say that both bikes were a write off.
It’s no secret that Niels Kristian Iversen has endured a torrid season with injuries and crashes and to top it off he confirmed via Twitter that he had tested positive for Coronavirus. I’m sure I speak for the whole speedway world in wishing NKI a speedy recovery and that he will be hoping, like all of us for a far better 2021.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we have been able to purchase and donate a PlayStation 4 for the Children’s Paediatric Trauma Ward at James Cook University Hospital. The Ward made a plea for help after their existing PS4 was stolen, leaving the children on the ward without one of their main sources of entertainment.
Thanks to the money raised by our supporters at the start of the season, to go towards our annual visit to James Cook at Easter, we were able to make this donation.
Huge thanks go to Claire James for her efforts in making the arrangements and taking the time to buy and deliver the console.
In a year where good news has been in pretty short supply, there was potentially a real boost for speedway in the news that Eurosport are to promote the sport globally for the next ten years.
Not only is this a huge shot in the arm for the sport, but it shows huge commitment on the part of all parties involved. Eurosport have a massive global audience and we all know that when speedway is done right, it is simply breathtaking.
So what’s not to like about our great sport being available to the masses?
Onto a slightly more controversial subject now, the British Final, which of course was streamed live from Belle Vue.
Whilst the event eventually proved to be a success was much talked about and pretty controversial, it certainly got people talking. One of the vocal critics of the meeting was former British champion Craig Cook, who opted to sit the meeting out.
Cook clearly wasn’t impressed by what he was witnessing but former Poole star Brady Kurtz was quick to shoot him down by commending Speedway GB for putting the meeting on and that he supported the future of speedway in this country by parting with his money to watch the meeting.
There may or may not have been a slight dig a Craig Cook too…judge for yourself.
Lastly we simply couldn’t leave without paying tribute to Bartosz Zmarzlik who successfully defended his world championship at the weekend and became only the third man to pick up back to back championships in the Grand Prix era. Not only that he staggeringly became Poland’s only ever two time champion, which given their domination of the sport over the years, takes a bit of believing!
However there is little doubt that Zmarzlik was a fully deserved winner and has been the best rider in the series all year despite coming under immense pressure from Tai Woffinden and Freddie Lindgren.
Who would bet against him adding to his tally in the coming years?

Everybody at Redcar Bears Speedway is very sad to learn of the passing of Peter Morgan.
Peter was Clerk Of The Course for the Bears from 2009-2012 and was well known in the speedway community. Peter also served as Clerk Of The Course of Hull and Bradford.
Peter taken into hospital three weeks ago having contracted pneumonia before being transferred to a care facility nearer his home where he passed away peacefully midway through last week.
Peter was known for his kind heart, was very popular and always approachable. His wife Sylvia was Office Manager with the Bears for some time.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to Sylvia and Peter’s family. RIP Peter.
The Redcar Agilia Bears’ promotion have confirmed that they will track the same 1-7 in 2021, thanks to the backing of the club’s sponsors and its supporters. A change to the sport’s regulations over the winter could interfere with these plans, but that seems very unlikely with several promotions already stating similar intentions to those of Redcar Speedways.
All 7 riders have pledged their commitment to the Bears for 2021 and permission has now been granted by their respective promotions for that to happen. Co-promoter Jitendra Duffill has stated the support of the club’s sponsors and supporters as being the main reason for this being possible.
“I have to emphasise that the reason we have been able to make this call is due to the support we have had from our sponsors and fans. Their backing has given us some financial stability over the Covid hit 2020 season and because of that, we can comfortably commit to Championship League speedway in 2021” said Duffill.
A few weeks ago, the promotion announced that all 7 of the Bears main sponsors had pledged their continued backing of the club for 2021. Erimus Insurance Brokers, Hartburn Garage, SG Petch Middlesbrough, Ecco Finishing Supplies, Town & City Management and Media Prima will all continue as club partners , with Agilia Infrastructure Partners remaining as title sponsor.
Duffill again expressed the promotions gratitude, “We can’t thank our sponsors and fans enough for their support and understanding this year. The continued pledge of support from our partner sponsors, along with the vast majority of our other sponsors and season ticket holders rolling over their commitments, has left us in a position where we can comfortably plan for 2021: because of that, we have been able to commit to the same side that we signed for 2020”.
The news is expected to be received well by the club’s sponsors and supporters alike, after the cancellation of the 2020 season left them wondering ‘what might have been’ The septet of Charles Wright, Erik Riss, Michael Palm Toft, Jordan Stewart, Kasper Andersen, Jordan Jenkins and Joe Lawlor were tipped by many to challenge for silverware and this news gives them something positive to look forward to.
“All 7 riders took no convincing at all. They have always made it very clear to me that they wanted to be at Redcar next year and I told them months ago that they could count on our commitment to them in return. I’m pleased that we can now make our intentions public and I can tell you that all 7 of them can’t wait to race for us in 2021” finished Duffill.
