The Teesside Silver Helmet has been rearranged for Monday 28^th October at 7.30pm. Many of you will be aware that this date is already reserved for the restaging of the KO Cup Final, if it were to be cancelled on Sunday due to poor weather. The Redcar promotion have been working tirelessly all day, seeking rider, staff and sponsor availability and it has become clear that it is not possible to run any other day.

Promoter Jitendra Duffill explained, “The deadline for all fixtures this year is the 31^st October, so the Silver Helmet has to take place before then. I’ve spend hours today trying to reschedule and only Monday is feasible due to unavailability of riders, staff or sponsors on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. I don’t want to cancel what is an important meeting for us, so I’d rather take the risk of running on Monday. Newcastle are aware of our situation and we understand that we will have to cancel the Silver Helmet if we need to be in Newcastle on Monday night. That situation is preferable to simply giving up on and cancelling this event ”

An updated line up will be posted as soon as it has been finalised.

Due to the poor weather forecast for this afternoon and this evening, we have taken the decision to postpone tonight’s Silver Helmet meeting.

It is possible we may try to re stage this meeting, please keep an eye on this website and Social Media for any further details.

With the S G Petch Suite being booked by the main meeting sponsors, we will be opening up the main Bruce Forrester Lounge for fans for this Fridays Silver Helmet meeting.
For an extra £20 you will get all the usual perks such as a Free Programme, Pie & Peas & a Hot Drink and a centre green visit for 2 heats.  However, you will also become a sponsor for a rider on the night, and if they win the Silver Helmet you will receive a bottle of champagne.

British Speedway operates across three domestic leagues; The Premiership (top league) the Championship (middle league) and National League (development league). The lineup has now been announced for the 2019 Teesside Silver Helmet, taking place on Friday 25th October (7:30pm start).

Last years winner Sam Masters will be back to try and defend his title, but will have his work cut out in a strong lineup which includes all 6 Bears. Jake Allen, who has guested for the Bears on a number of occasions this year will fancy his chances, whilst the likes of Steve Worrall, Ben Barker, Richard Lawson, Lewis Kerr, Ricky Wells and Ulrich Ostergaard all know the quickest way around the Media Prima Arena.

Bears asset, and popular Dane, Jacob Bukhave takes his place alongside an interesting name in fellow Dane Matias Nielsen.

The meeting will consist of 22 heats, with each rider having 5 programmed rides. The top two riders will go straight to the final, with riders 3-6 going into a semi final. It certainly promises to be a superb end to the season at the Media Prima Arena.

Unfortunately, due to the poor weather, tonight’s KO Cup Final second leg at Newcastle has been postponed. This has been rearranged for next Sunday(27th).

Redcar Agilia Bears travel up the A19 on Sunday to face Newcastle in the second leg of the KO Cup Final (6:30pm start).

It is another in a series of massive meetings in October for the Bears, as they look to secure their first trophy since speedway returned to Teesside in 2006.

The Bears will travel up with a 12 point lead from the first leg, after beating Newcastle 51-39 at the Media Prima Arena.

With the meeting being re-arranged after last Sundays postponement Adam Ellis, the original choice of guest for Michael Palm Toft, is no longer available. However, the Bears have secured the services of ex-Newcastle man Lewis Kerr who will guest in his place.

Charles Wright, Ulrich Ostergaard, Max Clegg and Danny Phillips will all also rides in this meeting despite the clashes with the Wolves v Peterborough meeting and National League Riders Championships. The Diamonds do run rider replacement in place of the injured Thomas Jorgensen.

It promises to be an exciting night, and a night where the Bears could lift the trophy! We hope to see as many of you make the trip up to Newcastle as possible and recreate the superb atmosphere seen at Leicester last week.

Redcar Agilia Bears can confirm that we will travel to Newcastle for the second leg of the KO Cup Final on Sunday 20th October with a 6:30pm start.

We can also confirm that despite Peterbrough having a meeting on the same day, skipper Charles Wright will be lining up for the Bears. The Premiership only have priority on riders on Mondays and Thursdays, meaning the Championship takes priority on a Sunday.

The Bears go into what should be an exciting second leg with a 12 point advantage, after winning the first leg 51-39 on Friday night.

Tonight’s KO Cup Final second leg at Newcastle has sadly been postponed due to the weather. The restaging date has been provisionally set for Sunday 20th October, but we stress this is just provisional and may change.

Redcar Agilia Bears suffered play off heartbreak last night, losing 50-40 on the night to make the aggregate score 91-89 to Leicester.

It has been a fantastic season for the Bears, and the team gave it all they had against the side who topped the league table during the season. The home side started off the meeting well, and by heat 6 the Bears 8 point lead was gone with the aggregate scores level. The racing was fast, furious and close all night and the Bears stuck with the Lions throughout.

Two successive 4-2s for the home side in heats 8 and 9 saw them take a 4 point aggregate lead, but a 4-2 for the Bears in heat 12 reduced this to just two points and ensured a tense finish. Going into Heat 15, a Bears 4-2 would have seen the scores tied, and a 5-1 would have won us the meeting. Charles Wright duly won, although Scott Nicholls and Ryan Douglas team rode well to keep Riss at bay. There was one moment where Nicholls looked to make a mistake and open the door for Riss, but the former British Champion managed to hold on and ensure the Lions got the 3-3 they needed.

It was a great effort from the Bears, and many congratulations to Leicester who will now face Glasgow in the final. Many thanks also to our brilliant supporters, who travelled in numbers and were in fine voice throughout. The Bears now face Newcastle tonight in the second leg of the KO Cup Final, hoping to defend a 12 point lead from the first leg.
