  • Redcar Speedway Car Park access

    Redcar Speedway Car Park access

For the 2018 season car parking arrangements within the stadium itself will be controlled due to ongoing ground work and safety issues.
Therefore any person wishing regular permission to park their vehicle within the stadium itself during race nights will need a parking permit issued by the club, this includes both STAFF and DISABLED PERSONS.
Forms can be obtained via the homepage on the club website or from the club itself.
The pass is aimed solely at club staff and Bears supporters as one off admission can be catered for by our stewards.
Please be aware that once a vehicle is parked within the stadium it cannot be allowed to leave until all racing is completed.
This is part of a long term plan to improve all aspects of the club and we do hope this does not cause any inconvenience. Any queries can be forwarded via the club call line 01642 040302.

  • Easter gifts!

    Easter gifts!

So its that time of year again! Easter is not that far away and we are once again planning a hospital visit with the speedway lads to give the poorly kids some treats. We want to try something a little different this year. We always have lots and lots of gifts and eggs due to the fantastic support of our fellow supporters, our aim this year is to give eggs and gifts to the children but also maybe one large present to keep on the ward for the children to use whilst in hospital, (we are in talks with the hospital as to what this could be).

So we still want donations of eggs and gifts but if anyone wishes to donate cash instead of eggs this would go towards the bigger present. We are also going to try a few blindcards etc to build up the pot a bit before the season starts. We would appreciate any donation and all will be towards the hospital visit. Thank you in advance to everyone. Claire, Janice and all at Redcar Speedway ????????

  • New Team Sponsor

    New Team Sponsor

Redcar Speedway are very happy to announce that the Bears will have a new primary sponsor for 2018. Long term backer Keith Miller , supremo of Middlesbrough based ECCO FINISHING SUPPLIES has stepped forward to once again become the clubs team sponsor and Redcar will wear the company’s logo on their race jackets this season being known as the Redcar ‘ Ecco Finishing ‘ Bears.

Kevin Keay ( club promoter ) said “The Bears deal with S.G.Petch had come to an end and as soon as Keith heard this news he offered to become the clubs main sponsor. Ecco and Keith have greatly assisted the club in the past and we are extremely grateful he has once again offered the Bears side financial assistance for 2018. We are trying to build a long term future for the Bears and improve facilities where we can and Keith is fully on board with our ambitions for the club. Redcar are far from a rich club and without support like this we could not survive. Ecco are a world wide brand and Keith is helping spread the word about speedway and particularly Redcar Bears , we look forward to working with the Ecco company once again. I’d like to thank S.G.Petch ( Middlesbrough ) for their backing over the last two seasons they have been a pleasure to work with and we do hope to see them at the track again next season”.

  • Stewart happy to be a Bear!

Stewart happy to be a Bear!

Redcar’s newest Aussie import, Jordan Stewart, admits he is delighted to be at Redcar and can’t wait to get his British career started. The young Aussie, who will start with a 5.2 average, has impressed in his native Australia this winter and is looking forward to getting started:

I’m pleased to be at Redcar for this season, it looks like such a great club and awesome track, I have heard from a lot of people that it is a awesome club. My plan for the UK this year is to just enjoy it, it’s my first year so there will be some setting up, getting to know all the tracks and everything else, I’m going to put in 110% this year and hopefully we get the result we want. I’m looking forward to it.

Jordan finished 8th in the Aussie Championships, and 4th in the U21 championships, but whilst these were very creditable results he admits he was slightly disappointed:

This years Aussie titles were tough for me, i felt as I didn’t ride as good as I should have, I just didn’t feel the same on the bike. Last weekend I had the u21 and felt good then, just had some bad luck in the final.

Jordan also spoke well of ex-Bear Hugh Skidmore, who helped put the deal in place:

I’ve spoken a fair bit to Hugh Skidmore, he has helped me a lot. He is a nice guy Hugh and all he wants to do is help people.

  • Trio complete 2018 Bears

    Trio complete 2018 Bears

Redcar Speedway are delighted to confirm tonight that Matej Kus, Jordan Stewart and Tobias Busch will complete the 2018 Bears team.

Matej is of course well known to Redcar fans after his previous spell with the club, and the popular Czech will start on a 7.64 average. Matej sat out last season with an injury, but spent the 2016 season with our good friends up at Newcastle. Bears team manager and co-promoter Jitendra Duffill is pleased to have him back in the ranks:

Last time Matej raced for us he won rider of the year, and I’m very confident that he will do a great job. He is ultra excited to be back and I think he is in for a big season. Matej missed most of 2017 due to injury and he is very keen to make amends for that.

Jordan is one of Australia’s brightest prospects, and will be coming over for his first season in the UK. He finished 8th in the recent Australian Championships, 2 points behind Edinburgh’s Josh Pickering and 7 ahead of Jye Etheridge. He will come in on an assessed 5.2 average. Duffill is excited to see Stewart in action:

Jordan has enjoyed a good season in Australia, and is one of their brightest prospects. I’ve watched him race over the last few weeks in the Australian Championships where he has taken some big scalps including Jack Holder. He has a very bright future and I am very excited to secure his signature for 2018. I’m very confident that he will make a big impression very quickly.

Tobias is another face familiar to Bears fans, and the very popular German returns on a 4.66 average. It was a bit of a stop-start season last year for Tobias due to injury, but still produced some excellent performances towards the end of last season. He will start the season in a reserve berth alongside Theo Pijper, a partnership which Duffill believes will be potent:

Tobias will form a very potent reserve partnership with Theo Pijper and hopefully keep us strong at home. I’m confident he can add to his starting average, and he can beat anyone around the Media Prima Arena. He was unsure whether he was coming to the UK in 2018 but I’m pleased we were able to persuade him to return. We definitely haven’t seen the best of Tobi yet!
