    Sponsorship opportunity

Redcar Speedway are now offering you or your business the opportunity to sponsor the outer wall of the Bears changing rooms.

There is a prime spot for a 24ft by 4ft advertising board – this can be your name, your business name, an inspirational quote -anything at all (within reason!)

The cost will be £400 for a huge sign in a prominent spot of the stadium. For enquiries, please contact us via website@redcarbears.co, via the Redcar Bears Facebook or via Kevin Keay directly.

  • Winter weather disrupts preparations

    Winter weather disrupts preparations

The latest cold snap has caused further disruption to pre-season preparations and improvements at the Media Prima Arena. Promoter and labourer Kevin Keay attended the snow bound track today to find large sections of boundary fencing had collapsed under the weight of snow drifts and strong winds and sections of the safety fence had also been damaged.

It’s a case of one small step forward and two larger ones backwards at the moment and we are getting a little frustrated at the lack of progress but even the BSPA can’t control the weather so we will just have knuckle down and do what we can till we get a dry settled spell of weather.

Meanwhile co-promoter Jitendra Duffill has completed his line up for the opening meeting, an individual meeting in memory of Julie Lewis, a stalwart member of staff on Teesside for many years. The full line up will be revealed later this week.

  • Ben Fund postponed

For those Redcar fans who were planning to attend the ‘ Ben Fund’ meeting at Peterborough and watch Smoggy win the dance off unfortunately the meeting has been postponed due to an unfit track.

The wet winter weather , which is also affecting work at the Media Prima Arena , has meant that the meeting has had to be postponed until later in the season and so Smoggy has to keep her dancing shoes on ice until a rescheduled date is announced.

It’s a frustrating time at Redcars own track which is also unfit due to the constant rain and cold so work progress around the stadium has been very slow of late.

Season ticket holders should receive their passes very soon and certainly long before the first meeting of which the line up will be announced shortly.

The ‘ Disabled and Staff Passes ‘ will be issued to those that have applied for them at the gate upon their first attendance or can be collected on Press Day from the Speedway Office.

  • Gig at Redcar Speedway

    Gig at Redcar Speedway

Redcar Speedway are delighted to host ‘Old Red Eyes’, the lead singer of popular local tribute band The Southmartins. The event will take place on Friday 11th May, with an 8pm start at the Clubhouse. We are delighted he has agreed to come and perform at the STMP, expect plenty of Beautiful South and Housemartins songs as well as plenty more!

We are hopeful this is the start of regular entertainment at the clubhouse in order to help support the Bears! Admission is £7.50, which also includes a pie and pea supper. These can be obtained from the Bears office on racenights, or by calling Jes Lambert on 07816935864.

    Bears win an award!

Redcar Ecco Finishing Bears have won an award!

The Bears have been informed by the S.C.B that they have won the Championship Track of the Year for 2017 an award voted for throughout the season based on referee’s match reports.

    Promoter Jitendra Duffill:

I’m absolutely thrilled to be awarded track of the year. Credit and thanks have to go to Terry and to all of our volunteers who have worked so hard in 2017. They gave us a race circuit to be proud of and their achievements deserve to be acknowledged. This is further proof that we are moving in the right direction and I feel very proud of our achievement.

The club owe a huge debt of gratitude to Terry Chrabaszcz and his volunteers Jonathan Swales, Steve Willis-Feasby, Mick Campbell and Phil Hainsworth who have all contributed to this award. An official presentation will take at the Media Prima Arena during the club’s first official fixture on Thursday April 5th.
