Redcar Bears are pleased to announce a special early bird offer for 2018 season tickets, available up until 31st December only. Prices will remain the same as last year, but will now also include all league Cup, knockout Cup and challenge matches as well.

Prices for Adults are £230, concessions £170 and children £55. The form is available to download Here

Redcar Bears announced their first signing for 2018 tonight, with the ever popular Ben Barker returning for a second season.

Barker, who ended the season as the Bears number one, was always keen to return to the Bears and the Bears were keen to have him back.

Having been back in the country for a matter of hours the Redcar management are working furiously and will be in a position to announce their first signing at the club social event on Thursday evening.
As well as news from the sports AGM there will be a limited time offer on season tickets for 2018.
With a quiz and Hot food available entry is via donation on the door .

Redcar Promoters Jitendra Duffill and Kevin Keay have come away from the BSPA AGM in Tenerife extremely pleased after 3 long days of discussions with their fellow promoters.
Kevin said “ we feel we have had some very positive input into the future of our sport and look forward to 2018 as being the first step in getting Speedway back to being a major sport once again . Great ideas were forthcoming and there’s lots more to come from this conference and we think we have made significant strides over the last three days”.

Redcar Speedway are very shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Dave Rattenbury who supplied and manned the souvenir shop at Redcar for many seasons .
Dave was a very popular figure around the speedway tracks , manning shops at several tracks and all the major events. Dave always had a smile on his face and time for a chat. He will be sadly missed.

Redcar Bears promoters Jitendra Duffill and Kevin Keay head to Teneriffe next week for the sports AGM which is scheduled to take place over a three day period in the holiday resort.
Kevin Keay said “Whilst I’m a little surprised at the choice of venue for the conference I do hope the trip is worthwhile. There is a lot to discuss as we all need to pull together to get the sport back back to where it should be in 2018. Both Jitendra and I have put several points forward for discussion as have most other clubs and let’s hope we can all agree on the best way forward.” 

Redcar are already making plans for next season with both riders and sponsors old and new being spoken too and once the AGM is concluded hope to make a few announcements at the club’s social function on Thursday 23rd November. The fans will have the chance to ask what was discussed and what are the repercussion’s for the Bears for next season.

Redcar Bears will hold a social/quiz night on Thursday 23rd November. This is just days after the AGM is finalised and we will be able to answer any questions on the outcome. The night will be free entry with a donation bucket on way in/out. Also hot food will be available to purchase on the night.

Redcar Speedway hosted the Northern Junior League individual Riders Championship today and those that took advantage of the free entry saw some top class racing from all who took part.
Organiser Jamie Swales said “Today saw some of the closest racing I have seen all season and it was full on all day from every rider. To get all 47 races in under 4 hours with breaks between was a credit to the referee ( Michael Breckon ) and every volunteer who helped out today”. 

Redcar Speedway would like to thank all the sponsors who helped to offset the costs of hosting such a meeting and provided trophies for the finalists.

Redcar Cubs Gavin Parr and Elliott Kelly both made the semi finals

Redcar SG Petch Bears ended the season on a positive note, after a 39-33 defeat at Sheffield gave the Bears the point they needed to climb back above Peterborough to finish fifth.

The day had started badly for the Bears, after they suffered another break in at their clubhouse at the Media Prima Arena. The patched up side made the trip to Sheffield, and were watched from terraces by injured duo Ben Barker and Charles Wright. The meeting start was then delayed to the ambulance being held up on route, but once it got going it was a good meeting. After a couple of hold ups throughout the meeting, unfortunately the curfew was reached after heat 12 and the result was declared. 

It was a solid performance from the Bears Select, with Paul Starkes top scoring with 9 and Simon Lambert scoring 6+1. Sheffield guest, and ex Redcar man, Ty Proctor top scored for the Tigers with 11.

Redcar SG Petch Bears patched up side lost 48-41 away at Newcastle on Sunday, in their second last meeting of the season. With 5 riders injured, and Ellis Perks having returned to Australia for the Winter, Jonas B Andersen was the Bears lone rider in a unfamiliar lineup. 

The Bears select side put up a good fight however, with ex-Bear captain top scoring with 12 and James Sarjeant scoring 11+1 from reserve. Stevie Worrall top scored for the Diamonds with 13.
