The Redcar S.G.Petch Bears will racing at Newcastle on Sunday 22nd October in a ‘double header’ featuring Workington. The Bears will be missing a number of riders including the injured Charles Wright, Jason Garrity and Danny Ayres with their replacements being named shortly.

The latest news on Charles Wright’s injuries received at Sheffield are that he has a serious wrist injury which has been operated on,  along with numerous other impact injuries and he will not be fit to race for a number of months,  meaning he has withdrawn from the Championship riders final this coming weekend.

The Bears will be represented by Ben Barker who has had a tremendous season as a Bear and is capable of doing very well at Glasgow.
The two outstanding Bears fixtures , at Sheffield and Newcastle are still to be confirmed .

Congratulations to Redcar SG Petch Bears riders Ben Barker and Charles Wright for finishing second behind home side Sheffield in this afternoons Championship Pairs meeting.

It was an outstanding effort from the Pair, and means the Bears finished second again after finishing as runners up in the Fours as well.

Unfortunately Charles picked up an injury in the final, we will update you with details when we know more. 

A reminder to all Bears fans that the Championship Pairs event will be held at Sheffield on Sunday October 8th with a 3pm start. The Bears will be represented by Ben Barker and Charles Wright.

With tracks trying to fit in fixtures and ease travel arrangements the Redcar Bears fixture at Newcastle scheduled for this coming Sunday has been postponed.
Workington will now ride at Newcastle this week and the Bears thank both Newcastle and Workington for their cooperation.
It is hoped that both outstanding Bears fixtures can be arranged shortly.
Tickets for the end of season awards night are selling well and can be purchased on line using the club hotline 01642 040302

With Sheffield Tigers looking to arrange a possible Play Off Final match this coming week the fixture against the Bears has now been postponed.

The rained off Championship riders final has now been rescheduled for Saturday 14th October.
There is no news on possible alternative dates for the Bears fixture as a number of clubs try to arrange both play off final matches and K.O. Cup matches.

Bears remaining two away league fixtures have now been confirmed as taking place at SHEFFIELD on Thursday 28th September and at NEWCASTLE on Sunday 1st October.
The Bears are still looking at gaining more league points to maintain their fifth place in the championship table and make it their highest ever finish since they were formed in 2006.
